Our Most Popular Blind
Roller blinds are the most popular window covering in Australian homes. And for good reason.
They’re simple. They’re clean. They work in every room. Pull them down for full privacy and light control. Roll them up and they virtually disappear, leaving your window clear and your view uninterrupted.
At Watson, we make every roller blind in our own factory, custom fitted to your exact window measurements. That means no gaps around the edges, no ill-fitting off-the-shelf products, and no compromise on quality.
We offer three fabric types to suit different needs: blockout for complete darkness, sunscreen for glare reduction while keeping the view, and light filter for a soft glow without the glare. Every roller blind comes with a lifetime product warranty.
Choose Your Fabric
Total Darkness
Completely block all light from entering the room. The fabric is opaque and backed with a light-blocking coating for total darkness.
Our blockout roller blinds also provide excellent thermal insulation. Over 30% of the heat lost in your home escapes through your windows. Blockout blinds help keep that warmth inside during winter and block solar heat during summer, reducing your energy bills.
Best For
Bedrooms, nurseries, media rooms, shift workers’ bedrooms, and any room where you want complete light control.
Glare Reduction
Filter sunlight while keeping the view. Sunscreen fabrics are semi-transparent, blocking UV rays and glare without darkening the room. You can still see outside during the day.
Sunscreen blinds also reduce UV exposure, protecting your furniture, floors, and artwork from fading. Our sunscreen fabrics block up to 95% of UV rays.
Best For
Living rooms, kitchens, dining areas, offices, and any room where you want natural light without the glare.
Soft Ambient Light
Create a soft, diffused glow. Light filter fabrics allow natural light in while providing full privacy. Unlike sunscreen blinds, you can’t see through them from either side.
Best For
Bathrooms, kitchens, living rooms, and any room where you want privacy with a soft, ambient light.
The Versatile Option
Can’t decide between blockout and sunscreen? Get both. Our double roller blind system fits two blinds on a single bracket. Use the sunscreen blind during the day for soft filtered light and UV protection. Switch to the blockout blind at night for total privacy and darkness.
It’s the most versatile roller blind setup available and it’s our most popular configuration for bedrooms and living rooms. The dual system sits neatly in a compact headbox, so it looks clean and minimal even with two blinds.
SMART HOME READY
Add motorisation to any roller blind and control it with a remote, smartphone, or voice command. Set schedules so your blinds open and close automatically. Integrate with Google Home, Amazon Alexa, or Apple HomeKit.
Motorised roller blinds are perfect for hard-to-reach windows, large window banks, or anyone who wants the convenience of automated window coverings. All wiring is hidden inside the headbox for a clean finish.
We manufacture our motorised blinds right here in our local factory. Better quality control and faster turnaround than imported alternatives.
Blockout roller blinds are the clear winner. They create total darkness for better sleep and help insulate the room. For bedrooms that also serve as a home office, a double roller system (blockout + sunscreen) gives you flexibility throughout the day.
Our Recommendation
Blockout Roller Blinds, or Double Roller (Blockout + Sunscreen).
Sunscreen roller blinds keep your view and natural light while cutting glare on the TV and protecting furniture from UV fading. Pair with a blockout in a double system if the room doubles as a media space.
Our Recommendation
Sunscreen Roller Blinds, or Double Roller for media rooms.
Light filter or sunscreen fabrics work best here. They’re easy to wipe clean, handle steam and splashes, and let in soft light while keeping privacy over the sink and bench.
Our Recommendation
Light Filter or Sunscreen Roller Blinds.
Light filter fabrics give you full privacy with a soft glow, and moisture-resistant options stand up to a steamy bathroom. We can recommend fabrics designed for wet areas.
Our Recommendation
Light Filter Roller Blinds in a moisture-resistant fabric.
Sunscreen blinds cut screen glare while keeping the room bright. Add motorisation for set-and-forget control during the working day, or a double system for video calls that need a darker backdrop.
Our Recommendation
Sunscreen Roller Blinds, motorised for convenience.
Photos can only tell you so much. Book a free in-home consultation and we’ll bring roller blind fabric samples to your home so you can see exactly how they look against your walls, in your light, in your space. We measure your windows and recommend the right fabric for each room.
Your Questions Answered
Custom roller blinds start from $200 per standard window and typically range up to $300, depending on the fabric type and window size. Blockout fabrics are slightly more than sunscreen. Motorised systems add to the cost. The best way to get an accurate price is a free in-home consultation where we measure and quote on the spot.
A quality custom roller blind lasts well over ten years with normal use. Ours are built locally to last, and they come with a lifetime product warranty, so we stand behind them for the long term.
Yes. Any of our roller blinds can be motorised and controlled by remote, smartphone, or voice through Google Home, Amazon Alexa, or Apple HomeKit. Wiring is hidden inside the headbox for a clean finish.

Very. A regular dust or a wipe with a damp cloth keeps them looking fresh. Sunscreen and light filter fabrics are especially easy to maintain, which makes them ideal for kitchens and bathrooms.
Blockout roller blinds add a useful layer of insulation. Over 30% of the heat lost in a home escapes through the windows, and a blockout blind helps keep warmth in during winter and solar heat out during summer.
Yes. We custom make roller blinds to fit large windows and wide openings. For very wide spans we can split the blind or recommend a motorised option so it’s easy to operate.
