Why Your Home Needs Window Awnings

The main reason to install window awnings is to keep the heat at bay from sun-facing windows. They act as a barrier, stopping the sun’s rays before they hit the glass and warm up your rooms. This keeps the inside of your home naturally cooler and more comfortable through summer.

You’ll notice the difference instantly from windows in your home that get the harshest afternoon sun. The less heat absorbed by your glass, the less your cooling system has to work — saving energy and keeping your home steady in temperature.

Over time, awnings also help protect your interiors from fading and reduce wear on your window frames and seals caused by constant sun exposure. In light rain, they allow you to leave windows slightly open, keeping air moving through the house.

We can also customise your window awnings to suit any shape and size of window, meeting your unique requirements.

Our Range of Window Awnings

Every home has different windows and different challenges with heat. Our range of window awnings is designed to handle them all — whether you’re dealing with strong afternoon sun, high windows, or open spaces that need airflow. Here’s how each style works:

Automatic Awnings

Simple Cooling That Works All Year Round

Automatic awnings are one of the most popular and practical ways to stop heat before it reaches your glass. They move smoothly up and down guide rails, locking into place when lowered and releasing easily with a gentle lift. Perfect for ground-level windows, they let you control how much heat and light enters your home throughout the day.

Features & Benefits

  • Self-locking arms that automatically secure when dropped to a set position

  • Smooth, quiet operation designed for everyday use

  • Allows airflow between fabric and window to prevent heat build-up

  • Simple to operate — raise or lower by hand, no tools or cranks required

How It Works

The awning fabric slides along side guides and can be positioned anywhere along the rail. Once the arms reach a 90° angle, they lock in automatically. To retract, a light push on the bottom bar releases the lock and the awning rolls back up.

This design makes them especially good for windows that get strong sun exposure but still need airflow to keep interiors comfortable.

Fixed-guide Awnings

Reliable Cooling for Higher Windows

Fixed-Guide Awnings are made for windows that are hard to reach, like upper-storey or stairwell windows that get direct sun. They glide smoothly up and down sturdy side rails, letting you stop the awning at any height. This gives you full control over how much heat and airflow enters your home, even on higher levels.

Features & Benefits

  • Effective heat control for upper and hard-to-reach windows

  • Flexible positioning — stop at any point for custom coverage

  • Allows airflow between the fabric and window to reduce trapped heat

  • Strong, stable guide rails that keep the fabric secure in wind

  • Compatible with manual, crank, or motorised operation

How It Works

The awning moves along fixed metal guides, secured to the wall beside your window. You can lower or raise it to suit the sun’s position and lock it in place anywhere along the rail. This makes it ideal for managing heat through the day without losing natural light or ventilation.

PIVOT-ARM Awnings

Cooler Homes with Better Airflow

Pivot Arm Awnings are designed to keep heat out while letting fresh air in.
They project out from the wall at an angle, allowing air to circulate behind the fabric and preventing hot air from building up near your windows. This makes them perfect for large or outward-opening windows that need both ventilation and protection from the sun.

Features & Benefits

  • Stops heat before it reaches the glass, keeping rooms cooler

  • Promotes natural airflow through open space behind the fabric

  • Adjustable arms for flexible positioning throughout the day

  • Suitable for outward-opening windows and doors

  • Available in manual or motorised operation

How It Works

The arms extend the awning fabric away from the wall, forming a gap between the material and the window. As the sun moves, you can adjust the angle to control how much heat is blocked and how much air passes through.
When temperatures drop, the arms retract easily to let in natural light and warmth.

This design gives you year-round control — cool comfort in summer and open sunlight in winter.

Straight drop Awnings

Simple Design. Solid Heat Protection.

Straight Drop Awnings are a straightforward way to stop heat before it reaches your windows. They hang vertically over the glass, creating a barrier that keeps your rooms cooler and more comfortable without blocking natural airflow.

This timeless design works well for tight spaces or traditional homes where simplicity and reliability matter most.

Features & Benefits

  • Prevents heat build-up inside the home

  • Allows natural airflow between the fabric and the glass

  • Compact and low-maintenance design

  • Available in manual or motorised operation

  • Fits easily into narrow or awkward areas

How It Works

The fabric drops directly down over the window and can be secured using clips, straps, or side channels, depending on your setup. It creates an effective thermal barrier blocking heat before it transfers indoors while still allowing ventilation around the edges.

Wire-guide Awnings

Strong, Sleek, and Built to Last

Wire-Guide Awnings are a modern solution that combines clean design with durable performance. They use stainless-steel cables to guide the fabric, keeping it steady in wind while maintaining a streamlined appearance. Perfect for sun-facing windows and outdoor spaces where you want reliable heat control without bulky fittings.

Features & Benefits

  • Blocks heat before it reaches the glass

  • Slim, modern profile with minimal hardware

  • High-tensile, rust-resistant cables built for coastal or windy areas

  • Smooth, quiet movement for daily use

  • Available in manual, crank, or motorised operation

How It Works

The fabric drops straight down along tensioned stainless-steel cables fixed at each side. This design prevents swaying or flapping, keeping the fabric neat and stable even in breezy conditions. This design is strong and simple, offering long-term cooling performance with low maintenance.

Our fabrics have Duraguard Protector treatment, which resists stains and protects against mildew and fungi buil-dup.

Privacy and view-through

Our open-weave fabrics allow for one-way view only. Enjoy fantastic views through the day, with UV protection and shade while still maintaining privacy.
