Honeycomb blinds stop cold or hot air seeping in and out through your windows, which means you save on your energy bills and also enjoy the perfect temperature in your home year round.

Honeycomb Blinds or Custom Made ‘Cellular Blinds’

Gone are the days when we used to call them ‘window coverings’, when all that a blind or curtain was really there for, was to cover the windows and block out light. Now you can experience the exceptional benefits of honeycomb blinds, crafted with a unique cell design and advanced materials to deliver superior insulation. Achieve energy savings while enjoying enhanced sound insulation, while staying warm in winter and cool in summer.

Besides looking good and enhancing the existing decor in any home, honeycomb blinds are by far the most advanced blind available.

Their unique honeycomb cell design acts as an insulator, helping to trap the air inside your home and reduce heat exchange through the windows; which is really how most of the unwanted temperature from outside enters your home in the first place. They also come with a high ‘R-value’; a material’s ability to resist heat flow.

When installed on doors or windows, custom-made honeycomb blinds offer numerous benefits: regulating temperature, reducing energy bills, and enhancing your décor seamlessly.

What also sets our honeycomb blinds apart is their dual-opening feature, allowing for flexible light control and maintaining privacy while warding off the harsh sunlight too.

Honeycomb Blinds – Sophisticated, Functional and Energy Efficient

Unlike any other blind, custom-made honeycomb blinds for windows can be fitted into any window shape, and offer superior insulating properties.

The honeycomb-shaped cells create pockets that trap air, offering thermal protection which helps to regulate the temperature inside your home. This in turn can reduce the need for heating and cooling, leading to potential energy savings and lower utility bills.

Honeycomb blind fabrics are anti-static & dust repellent, making them low maintenance.

They’re also ‘GREENGUARD® certified’ which provides assurance that the fabric contributes to healthier indoor air quality. They do this by meeting stringent standards for low chemical emissions during product usage.

Maintenance

A regular dusting or gentle vacuuming will do the trick for the outside of your honeycomb roller blinds. But the part where some people start to struggle is when they try to clean the interior of the blinds.

That’s because the air pockets within the cells may be prone to the build up of dust. This is where having a can of compressed air can be useful.

Applying compressed air to the openings of the cells will easily blow out any debris through the openings.

  1. Energy Efficiency: Designed with unique cellular structures, these blinds trap air in distinct pockets, creating insulation barriers at your windows. This means you can enjoy a warmer home in winter and a cooler one in summer, leading to significant savings on your energy bills.

  2. Comfort and Control: Whether you’re seeking to flood your room with natural light or prefer complete darkness, honeycomb blinds offer unparalleled control. With options ranging from sheer to blackout, customise your space to match your mood at any time of the day.

  3. Noise Reduction: Live on a busy street? No problem. The cellular design also works wonders for noise reduction, providing you with a quieter and more serene home environment.

But don’t just take our word for it. Our satisfied customers report not only enjoying a more comfortable and stylish home but also seeing a reduction in their energy costs. With honeycomb blinds, you’re not just upgrading your home’s aesthetics; you’re investing in its overall comfort and efficiency.

Great question! Honeycomb blinds and cellular shades are actually the same innovative window covering, just known by different names.

Ensuring privacy, style, and comfort is key when choosing window coverings. For those worried about privacy at night, we suggest our blackout or opaque honeycomb blinds. They guarantee privacy by preventing anyone from seeing into your rooms when the lights are on. Plus, they block out unwanted light, helping you sleep better.

When considering new window furnishings, longevity is a crucial factor.

Honeycomb blinds are designed for resilience, crafted with high-quality materials that withstand the test of time. With proper care, these blinds can beautify your windows and provide functional benefits like insulation and light control for many years, often lasting up to 15 years or more.

Yes, if you choose blockout variations, the blinds can be completely opaque, preventing anyone from seeing inside your home when they are closed. Additionally, honeycomb blinds come in a top-down bottom-up style, allowing you to adjust them for both natural light and privacy according to your needs.

Honeycomb shades do not inherently look cheap; their appearance largely depends on the quality of materials used, the colour, and the installation.
High-quality honeycomb shades are available in a variety of fabrics, colours, and textures that can enhance the aesthetic appeal of any room. They offer a clean and sleek look that can fit into both modern and traditional interior designs.

Cleaning honeycomb blinds is a simple task that can be done using various methods.

For regular upkeep, start by dusting the blinds gently with a feather duster or a soft, dry microfiber cloth to eliminate any dust buildup.

For addressing stains or dirt, using a magic eraser is recommended for targeted cleaning. Furthermore, to clear out any debris lodged within the blind cells, using a hairdryer on the cold setting can effectively blow out dust and debris. By employing these cleaning methods, you can ensure that your honeycomb blinds remain fresh and well maintained.

Our production time is 2 weeks and because we make it in-house, it has the Watson Lifetime Warranty.

Watson Honeycomb Shades offer a choice of six control systems:

  • Glideshift – sliding cordless system ideal for patio doors and wide expanses

  • Motorisation – a fully motorised control system

  • Cordless – for a clean uncluttered look

  • EasyRise – with an endless (continuous) cord loop operation

Prices start from $220 for the smallest size.

Yes! Maintaining the cleanliness of cellular blinds is a straightforward task that can be easily incorporated into your regular cleaning routine. Using tools like a soft brush attachment on a vacuum cleaner, a feather duster, or a microfibre cloth can effectively remove dust and debris from the blinds.

Cellular blinds outshine roller blinds in light-blocking capabilities due to their cutting-edge headrail design, which reduces light gaps to a only 5mm at each end. In contrast, roller blinds usually feature approximately 15mm light gaps at either end, resulting in less effective light blockage. Moreover, cellular blinds offer a seamless light seal at the top, amplifying their ability to block out light compared to roller blinds.
